A Look Into Upstate Goldens

At Upstate Goldens, we have taken something which started as a family passion and turned it into a successful breeding business.

Growing up, my family bred Goldens. We picked up our very first golden retriever, Reese, from a local family when I was three years old. She was the most amazing dog! My parents fell in love with the breed and the rest was history for us! I remember staying up all night helping my dad whelp puppies, begging to miss school when one of our girls started labor in the early hours of the morning, sleeping next to the whelping box in our dining room, and being given the opportunity by our amazing vet to watch c-sections be performed when the need arose. This experience influenced my career path as a young adult. I went to ASC and SUNY 

Cobleskill for Veterinary Technology and Animal Science. After college I did a lot of work on the large animal side, but eventually made my way back to my Goldens and my father’s business. It was at that time I decided to purchase my first puppy that I would raise to begin my own breeding program. Now, myself, my partner and our 7 children work together to raise exceptional golden retriever puppies. We take very much pride in our girls, and it shows in the puppies that we are able to produce.
